Hitting Power in Relation to the Choice of Racket - Melbourne Business Analytics Datathon 2019
Introduction
The Melbourne Business Analytics Datathon this year with $25,000 prize money was aimed at showcasing how advanced analytics can transform decision making in the sports industry. There were different datasets provided by Tennis Australia, Cricket Australia, AFL and the Western Bulldogs to solve a specific industry challenge.
We chose Tennis as our interest and used linear models to point out which factors of racket could affect the most a player’s performance. Our solution was a recommender system which help players choose their best suited racket.
